Man Fatally Stabbed on Mumbai Local Train After Dispute Over Closing Door

Mumbai: A 21-year-old man, Mayank Lohar, was allegedly stabbed to death inside a moving Mumbai local train after an argument over closing the coach door during heavy rain on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred in a first-class compartment of a Churchgate-Nallasopara fast local between Goregaon and Kandivali stations. Police said the accused, Roshan Suvarna, pulled out a knife and attacked Lohar following a heated dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. Lohar died on the spot.

A video from the train showed the accused walking away with a knife in hand as frightened passengers moved aside. He was later arrested from Mumbai’s Kurla area.

The victim’s family has demanded strict punishment for the accused, with his mother and sister seeking justice and questioning why no one intervened during the attack.
