Police suspect Paswan of being the alleged mastermind behind providing shelter to armed criminals at the Circuit House. On August 15, two suspects were arrested from the premises with firearms and live ammunition. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of seven additional accused, while more weapons were also recovered.
Investigators are likely to question Paswan about how the accused gained access to the government property and allegedly used the Circuit House as a hideout. His interrogation could also shed light on any administrative lapses that may have allowed the incident to take place.
Paswan’s arrest came a day after the Panposh SDJM Court in Rourkela issued a non-bailable warrant against him. He had been serving as the representative of Union Tribal Affairs Minister and Sundargarh BJP MP Jual Oram at the Rourkela Municipal Corporation.
Authorities described the arrest as a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the Circuit House case and the alleged criminal network associated with the accused.
