RAJGIR / JODHPUR — Martial arts players from Bihar are set to participate in the 6th National Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport Championship, scheduled to be held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from September 18 to September 20, 2026.
The national championship will bring together athletes from across India to compete in Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport events. The tournament is being organised by the Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport Association of Rajasthan under the Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport Federation of India (HSFI).
Athletes participating in the championship will compete across different categories and weight divisions, with the event providing an opportunity for fighters to demonstrate their skills at the national level.
Selection for International Competition
The Jodhpur championship also carries significance for athletes seeking opportunities at the international level. Performances at the national event will be considered as part of the selection process for upcoming international competitions.
According to the championship information, top-performing athletes may be considered to represent India at the World Hand-to-Hand Fighting Sport Championship and World Cup Final, scheduled to take place in Bursa, Türkiye, from October 8 to 11, 2026.
Selection will take into account factors including athletes’ performance, technical ability, discipline and fitness.
For Bihar’s participating martial artists, the national championship offers an opportunity to compete against athletes from different parts of the country and gain valuable experience on a larger competitive platform.
